Types of slot cars - Overview

Wing Racers

In 1968 slot car racing transformed into a quest for speed and an abandonment of scale. Over the years the wheels got smaller, the widths grew wider, air damns became legal and today these things have no relation to any car ever in existence. Called blobs, thingies and flying wedges, the most common name as inaccurate as it is, Wing Car is the slang term for this area of the hobby.
