Revell slot cars are the professors personal favorite. The motors are towards the front of the cars with a coil spring driveshaft inline turning a crown gear. These won't win any speed contests against professional cars but the detail is spot on and they are plenty fast. At 1/10 the cost of a professional slot car, this is an exceptional value.
